Burning Glass Technologies, an analytics software company, has released a list of the fastest-growing cybersecurity skills. The study shows the top two skills involve building secure systems covering the apps on smartphones and the cloud storage that businesses depend upon.
The labor market analytics firm said it has been tracking demand for cybersecurity skills based on its database of more than a billion current and historical job postings. Based on the Burning Glass analysis of employer demand in postings, the skills projected to grow fastest in the next five years are:
Jobs requesting health information security skills include cybersecurity engineers, but also health care administrators and even insurance sales agents. This creates hybrid roles that must blend cybersecurity skills within existing responsibilities. Demand for these skills over the next five years is projected to grow over the next five years. According to NH, 35 percent of cybersecurity jobs require an industry certification, compared to 23 percent of information technology (IT) jobs overall.
