The Barrientos Scholarship Foundation was created in 2005 to help young Latinos pursuing higher education. The scholarships are named in honor of the Barrientos brothers, who migrated from Aguascalientes, Mexico, in the late 1920s. The BSF – Cinco de Mayo Engineering, Math, Architecture & Technology Scholarship is awarded to a Latino student pursuing a degree in Engineering, Math, Architecture or Technology to attend any accredited college in the State of Nebraska.
The BSF – Cinco de Mayo Health and Science Scholarship is for a Latino Student attending any Nebraska College or University with the intention to study and major in the fields of Health or Science.
