The University of Texas at San Antonio has announced that it will be holding UTSA Orientation at various locations on its main and downtown campuses from Monday, June 24 to Wednesday, June 26. Future ‘Roadrunners’ and their families will learn everything they need to know before the fall semester.
Beginning this fall, the UTSA College of Engineering is launching a new Aerospace Engineering Certificate to prepare students for careers in the aerospace industry.
The certificate program is open to mechanical engineering degree-seeking students and non-degree-seeking students with a mechanical engineering background. It certifies students have completed coursework essential to success in entry-level positions in aerospace.
2019 is a banner year for UTSA as it marks its 50th anniversary. One of UTSA’s traditions is a distinct ceremony that celebrates engineering student academic accomplishments and prepares them for their futures.
Each year, graduating seniors in UTSA’s College of Engineering receive rings in a ceremony ahead of receiving their diplomas. The stainless steel ring represents an oath to uphold the standards and dignity of their profession.
The 2019 Order of the Engineer ceremony was held Friday, May 17 in the Biotechnology, Sciences and Engineering Building Atrium. Graduating seniors took an oath then received an Order of the Engineer ring from another Order of the Engineer alumni. The next day, UTSA’s spring Commencement ceremony on May 18 honored graduates from several colleges including the College of Engineering.
New numbers indicate a three percent increase in both students who graduate in four years (to 25%) and also in six years (40%).
