West Point’s graduating class on Saturday, May 25 had the highest number of female Hispanic graduates and the largest number of Latino graduates, according to published statistics. Several outlets covered the graduation and commissioning ceremony this weekend, where Vice President Mike Pence delivered the keynote address.

Of the total number of cadets who were commissioned into the U.S. Army as second lieutenants Saturday, there was the highest number of Hispanic women among the largest number of Latino graduates: 88.
More than 980 cadets graduated from the U.S. Military Academy and were commissioned as second lieutenants in the US Army, according to a press release. Women made up about 20% of cadets, (223). The academy also graduated its 5,000th female cadet since the first class of women to graduate in 1980.
