MPowerFinancing has announced a partnership with La Unidad Latina Foundation on a new scholarship program for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) students. One $3,000 scholarship and two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to DACA students currently enrolled or accepted to study full-time at an MPower Partner University in the United States.
La Unidad Latina Foundation (LULF) is a community of college graduates dedicated to advancing the Latino community from high school to college graduation and in their careers to ensure the success of all of the United States of America.
“DACA students face a lot of hurdles,” MPower Financing writes on its website. “They’re not eligible for federally-subsidized loans, and their parents have limited access to a bank loan because they lack the credit history or income to qualify. We’ve assisted DACA students through our lending product, which does not require collateral or a co-signer, and we also include them in our Global Citizen Scholarship Program, but we wanted to create a unique scholarship program just for them in partnership with LULF.”
Based on a proprietary scoring algorithm that considers graduation rates, post-graduation employment rates, and alumni earnings, MPowerFinancing has come up with a list of schools and recommended universities. Click here to find out if MPower supports your school.
