Juan (Tony) Castilleja Jr. is a Propulsion Engineer in the Integrated Propulsion group, Space Shuttle Program under Space Exploration within Boeing Defense, Space, and Security. He is responsible for providing preflight and post-flight analysis of the Space Shuttle Pressurization System.

Previously, Castilleja was an intern in the Space Shuttle IP group since 2006 through INROADS, an organization who’s mission is ‘to develop and place talented minority youth in business and industry and prepare them for corporate and community leadership.

Castilleja is expected to complete a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in December 2010 from Rice. In 2006, Castilleja founded the Designing with Rice Engineers, an Achievement through Mentorship (DREAM) Program.

This program provides Rice University Engineering students as mentors and role models to inner-city high school students. Castilleja received the 2009 Mayor’s Volunteer Houston Award from Mayor Bill White that honors ‘individuals who do remarkable volunteer work that makes Houston a better place to live.’ Castilleja also received the INROADS-Houston Intern of the Year for his commitment to Boeing, INROADS, and commitment to service for Houston.
