Hispanic Engineer: Forty Under Forty

Arnel J. Alverio is an Engineering Manager at ITT Space Systems Division. His responsibilities include managing strategic departments’ burden and capital budgets, managing the formation of a Chief Technology Office organization, collecting and reporting on Key Performance Indicators, managing relationships development with local universities and assisting the management of day to day operations.

Alverio was the first candidate selected for a new leadership position created to offer emerging leaders the opportunity for exposure to a variety of business related activities such as burden and capital budget planning, Global Deployment Process (GDP) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) activities, leadership development and other business related tasks.

Alverio has been a member of the SSD’s Diversity and Inclusion Council for the past three years. He championed the creation of ITT SSD’s Hispanic and Latino Network (HLN), over which he presided for two years. Recently, Alverio and another ITT SSD employee were nominated for the Harold S. Geneen Award Community Service Team Achievement at ITT for leading the company's efforts to provide a tutoring and mentoring program to a local elementary inner-city school.
