Jose A. Salazar is a technical specialist at Southern California Edison’s Electric Transportation Department, where he manages EV infrastructure operations. His responsibilities include EV standards development and system impact assessments.

Currently, Salazar is an active participant in the Society of Automotive Engineers, EV Connector and Grid to PEV Communication standards. Salazar also serves as co-chair of SAE’s “Power Quality Requirements for On-Board Vehicle Chargers” and sits on the Underwriters Laboratories, “EV Safety” technical panel.

Previously, Salazar worked as a test engineer in the company’s Electric Vehicle Technical Center where he led all electro-drive technology system impact evaluations and the development of new testing facilities including the “Garage of the Future”.

His background in power and control systems relating to electric drive technologies enables him to support the company’s effort to integrate electric vehicles with the future Home Area Network (HAN).
