Hispanic Engineer 40 Under 40: Miguel Antonio Franco

Miguel Antonio Franco is the Global Operational Excellence (OE) Lead for Halliburton. He is responsible for deploying Lean Six Sigma to Field Operations.

Franco trains, mentors, and supervises a team of six Global OE Champions and 30 District/Country OE Champions. He works with numerous customers on organizing joint Lean Six Sigma efforts. In his previous position--Production Specialist, EPIC--Franco led a Shop Floor Kaizen Event that reduced cycle time by 43% and decreased standard cost variance by $100,000 a year.

In 2002, Franco served as vice president of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. He earned a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas. He has received the Halliburton MVP Award for improving the Electron Beam welding process.
